The house
A rectory that reveals itself slowly.
01 · The Story
Built from marl in 1849.
Le Manoir was built using the marlstone blocks from St. Michael’s Chapel, which once stood next to it. A rectory with high ceilings and thick walls, built to last for generations.
After years of neglect, the house went under the hammer at a public auction in 2022. What followed were four years of patient restoration, with our son Gaston serving as project manager and interior designer Thierry Fasseur breathing new life into every room. Beneath the foundations, a vaulted marl cellar emerged—the showpiece that gave direction to the entire renovation. Today, the rectory stands once again, with a comfort that is never ostentatious and a tranquility that is rarely found these days.

Everything the house has to offer.
02 · The salons
High ceilings, fireplaces, and plenty of space for entertaining.
On the ground floor, several living areas flow seamlessly into one another, with the light shifting throughout the day. Fireplaces for the winter, tall windows for the summer. Space to gather with the whole group, and nooks to retreat to with a book.

A vaulted cellar that seems to stand still in time.
The showpiece of the house, built of marlstone and rediscovered during the renovation. Cool in the summer, cozy in the winter. The perfect spot for a wine tasting or a long dinner that seems to go on forever, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the day.

A covered outdoor kitchen and a walled-in oasis of tranquility.
Behind the walls lies a covered outdoor kitchen and terraces that follow the sun, with the old church as a quiet backdrop. A walled garden keeps the outside world at bay, with space for six cars behind the gate. You arrive, and the outside world stays outside.
